Massage at Home

It's been a while since I last updated this blog. Being a stay at home mom of a toddlers just stops me from doing what I enjoy most..which is spa hopping. Whenever I find time to go, I will still visit the usual spa I go to..this is because I want to make sure that my time away from my kids is worth it. Trying new spas can be a waste of time sometimes because you may not like what they have to offer. So to be on the safe side, since time isnt on my side..I just go to the spas I know will give me a good service. I guess from reading my blog, you will know which ones I go to normally.

Having said that...I still love being pampered and still need to have my regular massages.

So now, I pamper myself from home.

What I do is, I found a regular Makcik to come over to the house for my massages. The pressure is very strong and it is a traditional Malay massage. It is really good. Her charges are RM100 per session and each session are about 1 hour to 1 half hour. Good thing is, I can have my massage at the comfort of my own home. My kids can come and go and I don't have to be out, in the car, in traffic to get my "me" time. Negative part of it is, I'm not alone. My kids will come running into the room. Sometimes screaming, sometimes crying. But whatever it is, I still get a good massage to rejuvenate. And I do feel good after each massage. That's the most important thing.

I also have another person coming to the house to do reflexology or foot massage. This guy is very experienced and charges RM80 per hour. I've been going to him for years when he operated in Seri petaling. But he has left the place and now does house calls. My husband enjoys this as well.

Pampering from home is so good!

Baan Dalah Spa, Bangkok

This spa is located on Sukhumvit Soi 8 and not too far away from the Nana Station. There are a number of foot massages around that area and I decided to try this one cuz it looks the nicest. The price is also double compared to the others around the area.

I opted to go for the foot massage. A special kind called the Icy Spicy Foot Massage. Good after a whole day of shopping and walking about.

The massage started with a short foot scrub and rinse.

Then it was the foot wrap where they use this pepermint type of gel for about 5 minutes or so. And then the massage starts. The whole experience was for about another 45 minutes or so. I asked for strong pressure but I'm not too sure if the lady understood what I wanted.

After the foot massage, I was given a hand and shoulder massage for another 10 minutes. The whole experience was interesting and quite nice. All for approximately RM50 per hour. Not too bad.
I'd go again but next time I want to make sure I get that strong pressure that I want! The pressure was too soft for my liking but some might enjoy it..cuz it was very relaxing.

Neglect?

I admit I've been neglecting this blog - I've not been to any new spas lately, which is pissing me off cuz I never have the time to go anymore.

This is bad. I must go and do some pampering soon.

Although it's been rather quiet on this blog, I must say that I still do some maintenance work.
What's that?

Maintenance work involves:

- weekly (at least once a week) reflexology at either Sifu in Bangsar, Sri Petaling place or the place in Sg.Wang
- 2wice a month facial at Dermalogica, BSC
- Back massage at Sam Reflexology

the above is compulsory. It's not me if I dont do the above. So, there you go, it's not that I've been neglecting this or havent been pampering myself - I have..but it's at my usual place so there's not much to blog about.
Obviously they're all good that's why I go there on a regular basis.

I need to find out more spas to go to in KL....

I'll be in Bangkok again this weekend (for fun) and I will make sure I try few new places..

Cozy®, Jakarta

I was in Jakarta few weeks back and was looking for the place called Cozy since the first day I got there. I had such a great experience in Bali at Cozy so I couldnt wait to try the branch in Jakarta.

I stayed at Ascott and asked them if they heard of Cozy. They told me that they've heard of the place but have no clue where it is. They even tried looking for it in the phone book and internet but it was not registered under that name so they couldnt find it.

I was quite disappointed.
And then I remembered that I kept the leaflet from Bali and it is still in my bedroom at home. So I phoned my mum in KL and told her to search for the leaflet. She found it and gave me the telephone number in Jakarta.

Yeay!!!!!

It was quite hard to find the place. Luckily the driver had some idea how to get there. The area was quite dodgy actually. Like half kampung and half town kinda thing. But when I got there, it looked the same as the Bali branch. Signboards and colour of the place and the feel is the same.

First they asked me what kind of treatment that I want.
Then they asked me what kind of music I'd like to hear and gave me the ipod.
Next they asked me if I wanted any drink/juice.

I asked for:

1. 1 half hours of foot massage. It was da BOMB! Loved every minute of it.
2. Since I was in Jakarta, I asked for Indonesian song cuz I'm sure they're nice
2. I also ask for Ginger and Honey tea

I had the best time ever and didnt want it to end. It was exactly like Bali.
I love every minute of it.

To top that, I also discovered this Indonesian artist called Afgan. The ipod was playing his song. I've never heard of this dude before but now I know an Indonesian song that I like. :)

Cant wait to come back....but perhaps, Bali is a better location...

Sifu Reflexology

I just had one of the best foot massages ever and cant wait to share the experience.

Normally I go to Sri Petaling for reflexology but once in a while, I do go to other places as well. The reflexology in Sri Petaling is nice because it relaxes me and the technique they use is not the painful kinda reflexology. It wont make me jump out of the seat kinda thing but sometimes, I like the painful foot massage cuz it makes me feel really relaxed after the session. I actually like the pain to be honest.

So anyways, each time I decide to go for the slightly more painful type of foot massage, I’ll go to Sifu in Bangsar Telawi. It is situated right next to T Club, which is next to Starbucks.

In Sri Petaling reflexology, they would normally force you to drink a glass of water for each feet. They first massage the left, then the right and then go back to the left and then the right. Approximately spend about 15 minutes each side. So that’s like 4 glasses of water. They will bug you until you drink that water. Since it’s puasa and I cant drink that 4 glasses of water for every 1 hour session of foot massage, I decided to go to Bangsar instead. This place, they don’t force you to drink at all…

Last night I went there at 12.00am and boy it was one helluva good foot massage.
I don’t know what techniques they use but it reminds me of my favourite reflexology place in Bali. All the workers in Sifu are from Sabah.

You should try it…it’s really good!

I’ve been here many times and they’re good.
If you happen to be around that area in Telawi you should give it a go.
They also do body massage and all sorts of other stuff which I have to try soon!

Ask for Jim, Henry or Hassan to give you a good foot massage. Trust me, it’s worth it.

The Best

In my opinion...

The BEST facial : Dermalogica (Duh, cuz I refuse to try anywhere else)
The BEST body scrub : Khareyana Spa
The BEST massage : Khareyana Spa or Energy Day Spa, Mont Kiara
The BEST bath : Sembunyi Spa
The BEST ginger tea : Ozmosis Spa
The BEST spa (Decor) : Energy Day Spa
The BEST foot massage : COZY, Bali
The BEST value-for-money : Khareyana Spa
The BEST shower in a spa : Khareyana Spa
The BEST Steamroom : Sembunyi Spa

If you can combine all the above and have one spa with all that, that'll be fantastic!!!

Cozy® Bali

I couldnt wait to start blogging about this place. This is my favourite place in the world! he he he...

When I was at the Villa, the GM recommended for me to try the 1.5 hours foot reflexology at Cozy®. I was like "Whhhatt??! 1.5 hours??! R u serious??!"
He told me that this is the best place to have a foot massage.
I told him to make an appointment for me to check this place out.

My appointment was at 6pm and I was there right on time. I couldnt wait to start I suppose. I was so excited. This place is situated in Kuta. On one of their main roads so I've actually drove past this place and saw the huge signboards a couple of times before. Didnt know what to expect but it looks alright.

When I got inside, I was shocked to see so many people. There's 2 reception area (or was it 3?) to sign people in. Can you believe? And then there's a juicebar behind the centre reception. Once I got there, they took my name and I was told to take a seat at the juicebar. I was tempted to order a drink but at the same time, I was too amazed at the traffic coming and going out of this place that I completely forgot about ordering a drink!

I waited a long while for someone to come to me. About 15 minutes later, this lady came up to me and asked me to pick the oil for my foot massage. I chose the relaxation one. Nice smell of lavender.
Next, I was told to choose my music. WHATTT???!!! You can choose the music you want to listen to during the massage? This is wayyyy too cool.
I picked Jazz music. I think they had all sorts, Rock, Classical, Indonesian etc. You name it.

Only about another 15 minutes later the lady called my name "Ibu Zura..." hhmmm....
I was brought upstairs to the massage area on the first floor. Waooooooaaaaaa!!!!!!!
The area was so nice. It's all white and baby blue decor and they even had fish tanks opposite each massage chair. Too bad we were'nt allowed to take photos. I was in heaven.

The massage was FANTASTIC! The BEST I'VE EVER HAD! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was really really in heaven.
I was also given an ipod to listen to my chosen music. Unfortunately, I didnt know how to operate the damn thing properly so I had no choice but to listen to some weird song, some arabic-ish type of music but kind of funky and kind of jazzy.

On the table next to me, they had this cute note book where you can share your experience. I read some of the stuff written and they all seem to love their massage.
I was tempted to write something but I was too focused on enjoying my massage that I didnt want to do anything else but close my eyes and think of wonderful beautiful thoughts.

After the over an hour long of foot massage, I was also given a head, neck and shoulder massage. It was the best EVER!!! Really. Im not kidding.

All that for guess how much???
Approximately RM25! For an hour and half foot massage with neck, head and shoulder massage as well. You get to listen to the ipod, look at nice fishes in the tank and all that. It really trully was the best experience ever.

If you are in Bali, pls drop by this place and check it out. They have 2 outlets in Bali itself. In Kuta, it is on Sunset Road. They're open daily from 11am till 10pm.

Other than foot massage, they also have full body, head, face massage as well. I wish I had the chance to try everything but unfortunately, this trip is too short!

I'll miss Bali especially for this!

I dont wanna go home!!!! I feel good!

Beijing Natural Health Care

My back was aching, which shows that I've been working too hard. I am starting to feel tired (and lazy) and I need a massage!

Since I was in high school, I've been having this back/shoulder pain everytime I spend too long on the computer. It comes and go but whenever I spend too long in front of the computer, it is a sign that I've been working too hard and therefore deserves some pampering.

I decided to go for a massage but this time, I didnt want those relaxation oil massage. I wanted to go for those pressure point massage. I know a place that does that.... so I head to Beijing Natural Health Care in Taman Tun yesterday. This place is always full and since it was a public holiday and all, on the way there, I was really hoping that they're not. I was desperate for a massage.

Luckily it was empty.

I went for an hour of full body massage. I've been here for a massage about 3 times now.

1st experience was a total nightmare. The masseuse was a lady from China and she couldnt speak a word of English or Malay. I obviously dont understand a word of Chinese. She was this tiny lady but very strong. I kept screaming "Ouch!!!!!" throughout the whole massage and she kept increasing the pressure. I swear never to go back but I went back again the second time. I probably didnt know where else to go for a massage at that time.

2nd experience was a total bliss. This time a Sabahan guy massaged me. I know it is pretty weird but I was fully dressed and all...and tried not to think about it too much. It was all done professionally, no dodgy stuff. It was really good. I think my back was healed totally.

3rd experience yesterday was good too. Surprisingly it was with that same lady from China. My back was hurting so much that I didnt care if it was going to be painful.
But it turned out to be good. She now speaks a bit of English and Malay. She understood the word "Sakit" this time.

My back feels lighter now and much better.

They also do reflexology there and they're pretty good. A bit painful but quite nice.
