Ozmosis Spa

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for ages but somehow never got the chance. I walked in to make an appointment. I was quite impressed. The place is bigger and nicer than I thought. The staff at the reception was also very nice and helpful.

My appointment was at 10am but I arrived 20 minutes late. I called at 9.30am to ask if it was ok for me to reschedule the appointment to 11am instead but the girl said no because they already have another appointment booked at that time. I informed them that in that case, I will be late and she said ok.

When I got there, I was told to choose my massage oil and scrub. They gave me the options and it was all in front of me on the table but the therapist did not explain to me the difference or benefits of each. I didn’t know how to choose. Ya the look and smell different but other than that, how do I choose. I had to ask and then she explained a little bit. I was not very impressed.

Then I was taken to the treatment room. The room was nice but very small. I was expecting to hear really nice relaxing and soothing spa songs but instead, I could only hear the sound of the aircond.

First was the body scrub. I decided to go for the Romanic Rose Floral Scrub. I still don’t know what it’s good for but it just smells nice and sweet. Scrub was ok. Quite good I think. Next is the Aromatherapy Steam. I was sat in the steam room for about 15 minutes. The room is very small but good enough. Then, I got a 90 minutes body massage.

The massage was alright. Nothing to shout about. It was good but not fantastic.
I felt that the pressure wasn’t strong enough and also at times, I wondered if she knew what she was doing.

Once I got dressed, I was told to wait at the other room outside. They served the best ginger tea. I loved that. It was nice and sweet and perfect. I love it so much. I wanted to ask for more but was too malu!

Overall, this spa meets my expectation. The interior and décor was nice. It is a little bit small but I quite like it. They use good products there including Dermalogica products so that’s good. The staff were friendly but it would have been better if they could educate us more about their products and services.

The package I took is called Ozmosis Escapade which is RM310 and it includes Scrub, Steam and 45 minutes massage. 45 minutes massage is not enough so I had to top up another RM140 for another 45 minutes so the total bill was RM450 for about 2.5 hours. I think that’s quite pricey.

Will I go back?

Hmm… yea I might come back to try other stuff and to have the ginger tea. Yum Yum.
Parking is a problem around Telawi area so the best bet is to park inside Bangsar Village II and walk across. After the spa, you can enjoy the food at La Bodega. That’s what I did!

You can give it a go

Facial

I’ve been interested in beauty products since I was in primary school. I started young in this area. I remember when I was a kid still, my mum used to tell me about what to do and how to look after my skin and all that. She doesn’t practice it tho!

I tried all sort of products from the cheapest, to the most expensive ones. So far, nothing suits my skin better than Dermalogica products. I do mix and match with some other products too. While I was in uni, for some reason, my skin weren’t that good. I tried all sorts but nothing used to work until I found a place in Cardiff that sells Dermalogica products. I’ve been using this since I was 16 so I know it works on me but yet, I still like to try other products too. I just want to see if I can find something better.

When I came back from UK, my skin couldn’t take the sudden change in weather and it became really really bad. I was so ugly!!!
I tried going for facial at a few places….

1.New York Skin Solution – this was the worst out of all that I’ve tried. The facial itself was ok. It was 2 hours or more and I really felt pampered but after the facial, I got more breakouts and it was really bad. I also didn’t like the staff there pushing and kind of forcing me to sign up for a package which was over 3000bucks. I told them I’d think about it but they kept bugging and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I even said I didn’t bring my credit card and they wanted to escort me to a cash point. Crazy. I never went back there. Especially since the product obviously didn’t work on me.

2.CN Beauty in Bangar – This was quite alright actually. I had a good facial. I was introduced to the hot stone therapy during the facial and absolutely loved it.

3.Cant remember but its in Amcorp Mall– It was recommended to me by a friend but somehow it wasn’t as nice as I’d like it to be. I never went back but they’ve been sending me regular sms’es whenever there is a promotion and I find it to be so damn irritating. I told them to take me out from the list but sms kept coming.

And then I had enough…

So I went back to Dermalogica and been there since.

I go for facial every 3 weeks at the Leonard Drake in Bangsar Shopping Centre.
Price is alright. Still affordable. They will call you one day before your appointment to remind you of the appointment. They’re quite good.
The only thing is, everytime you go there, it’s a different therapist. I would prefer if it was the same person so that she knows your skin and if your skin is better since the last facial. Right now they do keep a record but if it was the same person then they’ll know your skin better.

I don’t have flawless skin. How I wish. But it’s ok.

Products I use:

1.Cleanser – Dermalogica, Essential Cleansing Solution.
2.Toner – Dermalogica, Multi Active Toner
3.Moisterizer – SKII, Facial Lift Emulsion
4.SKII, Facial Treatment Essence (Don’t know what its for but apparently it’s good so I’m trying it out now!)
5.For spots – Dermalogica, Gentle Soothing Booster (highly recommended!)
6.Scrub – St. Ives, Apricot Scrub
7.Day Eye Cream – Dermalogica, Total Eye Care with spf15
8.Night Eye Cream – St. Ives, Eye Stress Gel

So far both the eye cream is not working very well for me. I’m thinking of changing but I don’t know to which one.

That’s it. That’s how I stay pretty 

Stress Relief

I was in Petronas Twin Towers at my client’s office till 5.40pm on Friday. When my boyfriend arrived to pick me up it was already 6pm and there was a massive jam everywhere. It was almost impossible to get out of town.

It took us half and hour just to get from KLCC to Jalan Tun Razak. I was already feeling a bit dizzy after seeing cars everywhere at every corner of town. Since we were nearby Jalan Damai, we decided to pop by Vila Manja for a massage.

We went in for an hour massage and by the time we finish, there was still traffic! Glad we spent an hour at Vila Manja rather than in the car.

I didn’t quite enjoy the massage this time around. I asked for strong pressure but the girl was a junior and the pressure was too light for my liking. But nonetheless, it was ok.

RM158 for an hour massage.

The environment there is very relaxing. I’d still go back there!

Tel: 03-9056 1533
RM48 per hour for reflexology
RM40 for the foot bath (to get rid of toxic)

2. Lin Tze Physical Therapy Centre
Add: 10A, Lorong Ara Kiri Dua, Lucky Garden, Off Jalan Bangsar
Tel: 03-2094 6743
RM35 per hour for reflexology

Note: They do full body massage as well there. I used to come here a lot. The technique they use is slightly different. It’s a bit painful but I find it absolutely relaxing. I love it here. You will really feel like floating after an hour of reflexology.

3. New Shujin Reflexology
Add: Lot S026, 2nd floor, Sungai Wang Plaza
Tel: 03-2145 3693

Note: This place is also very good. If I’m in Sungai Wang or around the area then I’ll have the foot massage here. They do good back massage too. I used to have backache and this place is the only place that will make my back feel better. The only thing is, it’s out of the way for me so I only come here when I’m in Sungar Wang or around the area.

Manicure/Pedicure
Pro Nails
Address: Centrepoint, Bandar Utama. Next to 7Eleven
Tel: 03-77267885

Note: You need to make an appointment otherwise don’t dream of getting your nails done here. They do perfect French manicure!

Fish Therapy
Garra Ruffa Fish Therapy
Address: Bangsar Telawi. Next to Al Rahji bank.
RM38 for half an hour.

Weekend

On Saturday, I decided to pamper myself (again) cuz I deserve a reward for working for 5 days straight :P

Saturday
1st stop: Full leg wax – Bangsar
Waited for ½ hour before giving up..I didn’t want to be late for my 2nd stop. This place is always full. No point making an appointment as they’re always busy and you’ll end up waiting anyway. They do threading as well there and they’re quite good.

2nd stop: Manicure & Pedicure – Centrepoint, Bandar Utama
This place is also very busy. It’s a small little place called Pro Nails. They’re really good. They give a good foot scrub! Apart from the usual manicure/pedicure, they also do waxing. Since I didn’t achieve anything at my 1st stop, I thought I could get it done here but they were fully booked. Managed to get my manicure and pedicure done so at least this stop is a success!

3rd stop: Full leg wax – Bangsar (2nd try!)
Again it was full. I couldn’t be bothered to wait but wanted to get it done desperately. So I walked a few blocks and went to another place instead. I’ve never been to this place for waxing before so I wasn’t sure if they’d do a good job. Turned out to be ok. The usual place is better but this will do. Cost me RM40 for a full leg wax and RM5 for threading my eyebrows.

4th stop: Fish Therapy – Garra Rufa, Bangsar
I’m addicted to this. I don’t know how to describe the feeling but it is therapeutic.
I love it.
I tried it the first time only a week ago and now I’m hooked. I shouldn’t have gone after a pedicure cuz after a good food scrub, there’s not much left stuff for the fishes to eat.

Sunday
5th stop: Reflexology – Seri Petaling
I go for reflexology about 2wice a week. It’s a routine. But I was recently introduced to this thing they have here to get rid of toxic in your body. Basically it is a foot soak/bath with this machine in the tiny basin and after 30 minutes, you can really see all the toxic from your body. I get that done once a week.
This place is good because they really let you know what to eat and what not to eat, your problem areas and all that. My mum recommended this place to me. She suffers from really bad migraine and whenever it hits her, she will come running to this place and so far, this place is the only thing she needs during her migraine attacks. She doesn’t rely on medication anymore since coming to this place.

So that’s my weekend. I love this kind of weekends. I wish it was longer.
I need to figure out what to do next weekend. Cant be going manicure every weekend now, or can I? hmm….

Welcome

Welcome to my spa blog!

I love going to the spa and I love to pamper myself. I can’t think of anything else I rather do than spending some time at the spa, so I’ve decided to have a blog just to share my spa stories. I have no idea if this will be an interesting read but at least I can keep track of the places that I've gone to for spa treatments.

If you know any spa, preferably in KL, please do drop me a line. Even if you’ve never gone to the spa but heard or seen it and think it might be worth a try, let me know. I’m running out of place to go!
