Mascara Tips For Fuller Looking Lashes

I have big eyes. That's the first thing people notice about me. I used to buy tonnes of eye make up to make them look bigger but being a mum with 2 young kids, I don't have much time to do eye make up anymore. Less is more when you are a mother, I feel. Still, I have to look nice when I'm out and that's the first thing that will catch people's attention. Since I don't put on a lot of make up anymore, I make sure I do the basic. Put on my BB cream, fill up my eyebrows, put on a lipgloss & most importantly, put on my mascara.

One of the makeup item that I often use is the mascara. Mascara allows women to have longer lashes and makes them feel more feminine inside out. However, it cannot be denied that women tend to have some problems in applying it nicely onto their beautiful eyelashes for a good effect. There are three simple techniques which can help you to achieve fuller looking lashes without even putting on the fake ones. I thought it would be good to share it with you.

1. Put some powder

 

Before you apply your mascara, put a bit of powder on your lashes to make it look more plump and full. This is a trick where most people are not aware of and it definitely works! Put a few dust of powder onto your eyelashes but make sure to not get onto your eyes. Slip on the mascara and your lashes will look fuller than ever before.

 

 

2. Zig Zag technique

 

The next trick for women is to apply the mascara is a zig zag motion on your upper and bottom lashes. Start applying it from the root upwards and it will give you not only fuller lashes but longer length. Besides that, applying your mascara in a zig zag motion can also avoid clumps on the eyelashes and separates it evenly.

 

 

3. A Few Coats

 

The rule of only applying two coats of mascara onto your eyelash is definitely wrong. Women should apply a few more coats as for a perfect looking result but make sure to evenly apply it before the mascara liquid gets dry. Choose a black coloured one as the colour black can make you have a bolder and dramatic eye look. Massage at Home

It's been a while since I last updated this blog. Being a stay at home mom of a toddlers just stops me from doing what I enjoy most..which is spa hopping. Whenever I find time to go, I will still visit the usual spa I go to..this is because I want to make sure that my time away from my kids is worth it. Trying new spas can be a waste of time sometimes because you may not like what they have to offer. So to be on the safe side, since time isnt on my side..I just go to the spas I know will give me a good service. I guess from reading my blog, you will know which ones I go to normally.

Having said that...I still love being pampered and still need to have my regular massages.

So now, I pamper myself from home. 

What I do is, I found a regular Makcik to come over to the house for my massages. The pressure is very strong and it is a traditional Malay massage. It is really good. Her charges are RM100 per session and each session are about 1 hour to 1 half hour. Good thing is, I can have my massage at the comfort of my own home. My kids can come and go and I don't have to be out, in the car, in traffic to get my "me" time. Negative part of it is, I'm not alone. My kids will come running into the room. Sometimes screaming, sometimes crying. But whatever it is, I still get a good massage to rejuvenate. And I do feel good after each massage. That's the most important thing.

I also have another person coming to the house to do reflexology or foot massage. This guy is very experienced and charges RM80 per hour. I've been going to him for years when he operated in Seri petaling. But he has left the place and now does house calls. My husband enjoys this as well. 

Pampering from home is so good! 

Aster Spring BSC

I've been Dermalogica's loyal customer since I was in school. Form 4 to be exact.

Growing up, as a teenager with hormones all over the place, I didnt have flawless skin. I wouldnt say I had bad skin but it certainly wasnt good either. I had the occasional breakouts and whatnot..but it wasnt too bad.

Dermalogica was my playing ground. I would go for facial, well...probably once every few months. Not too often because I didnt really need to.

After I came back from UK (after being there for about 8 years), coming back to the hot humid weather of KL, my skin became somewhat out of control. Nothing was working for me. Whilst I was in UK, I tried all sorts of brands too because where I lived, it was rather impossible to find a place where I can easily get Dermalogica products. I tried all sorts of different brands...from the cheap ones to a much more expensive ones..but none of them worked.

I tried SKII and it didnt work on me - although I know a lot of my friends swear by it.

So after neglecting Dermalogica for a few years...I went back to it and it is now called Aster Spring.
Their newly renovated spa/salon is really nice. Located on the 2nd floor of Bangsar Shopping Centre.

My skin went from bad to flawless within a few months. I have never looked back. They have good customer service and fantastic therapist to help you.

Since I consider myself a regular...I've decided to get one of packages they offer

I think it is worth it! Pay RM3000 and you get products and services worth more than RM5000! I plan to go for facial 2wice a month. Now that Im a lot older, I need more help!

Bobbi Brown

I'm a fan of Bobbi Brown makeup. I like the more natural look lately since becoming a mom and I think if you like the natural look, Bobbi Brown offers the best range. I needed new makeup cuz the last time I bought any was ages ago so I decided to drop by at Midvalley Bobbi Brown for some much needed makeup shopping.

The makeup artist Sonia also taught me how to apply those products and how to create the look that I want. So now I know how to do my eyebrows properly!

I've been using the makeup for over a month now and I absolutely love it. Try it.

Confinement

I've just completed my confinement period.

I always thought that confinement period would be a time you'd be pampered to death and true enough, it is supposed to be like that but unfortunately, for me..it wasnt exactly like what I imagined it to be.

I've always wanted a true malay traditional type of confinement. I wanted to do the whole lot..jamu, bengkung and all that. I found an indon confinement lady though a blog. This person had use this makcik's during her confinement and raved about it. Since I didnt know where else to find a malay/indon confinement lady, I told my mum to arrange and call this makcik and decided to take a risk with this makcik.

This makcik charges RM100 per day according to her..but when my mum 'bargained', she said RM75 at first. Next few weeks when my mum called again to make booking and to pay deposit, she said RM80. Finally when she arrived, it was RM90. That itself should be an alarm that she's not honest.

Talk was all good. First week, I was really impressed. She did all...cook for me, massage me every morning, wrapped me twice a day after shower, prepared bath for me etc. She also took care of the baby when she gets up at night. However, since I breastfeed my baby, no matter what..I still have to get up at night for feeds.

Come second week, she started slacking. The food she cooked for me was more what she wants to eat rather than what's good for me. She made me fried stuff.., which I was told by people, that during confinement u shouldnt eat fried stuff. She made me spicy food too. I didnt have any food rich in garlic and ginger..when I thought that was supposed to be the food during confinement. I didnt complain cuz the food was good...but then, still, I should have what is good for me.

Third week was worst. She didnt want to get up at night anymore. She doesnt cook much cuz she prefers when we buy food outside. She switches off the fan when she's warm and changed the channels on the tv to what she wants to watch. I got pissed.
We told her bye bye when she told us she has to leave to go to her next client.

So pls, when choosing a confinement lady....pick properly.

For now, I feel that it is taking me longer to recover cuz I was not looked after properly. I was doing housework like laundry etc during my confinement cuz I couldnt stand it not being done. I have no maid that's why. Now my body aches......

Strip, Bangsar Telawi

I went to the Telawi branch this time to get my legs waxed. I was around the area so it was very convenient to go there instead of going to the Curve. I made the appointment and was there on time.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the place. Its nice and cool and funky. I quite like it actually. The place is bigger than what I had imagined it to be from the outside. This is actually their first branch.

I waited like 5 minutes and then was told to go to the room. The girl was nice and friendly and very professional. I like the people at the Strip, both at the Curve and Bsar. I am of course heavily pregnant and she was really gentle and she did a very good job.

Other than waxing, they also do manicure pedicure. I might come back to try that..

I like this place. I'll come back for sure.
